Advanced Mahjong Strategy Workshop with Audrey Irwin We are SO honored to welcome Audrey Irwin for a special training event! Audrey lives in Boulder, CO and has been playing American Mahjong for 30+ years. She travels the country competing in tournaments and recently took 1st place at the Destination Mah Jongg tournament with a winning score of 695 points! This is a rare chance to learn from someone at the top of her game. 🀄️ What to expect: A group lecture packed with strategy + discussion exercises, followed by Open Play with hands-on coaching from Audrey herself. Both sessions will be limited to 16 people. Topics we'll dig into: 🀄 Charleston Deduction — track passed tiles to figure out what your neighbors are building, and when to pivot 🀄 Discard Analysis — memorize discards to read opponents' hands before they even expose 🀄 Singles & Pairs — when to commit to these lines (and when to bail if the pairs aren't there) 🀄 Speed & Efficiency — tips for a 10-minute game pace, faster card memorization and pivoting (no photographic memory required!) 🀄 Defensive Play — spot an opponent's hand fast enough to avoid feeding them the winning tile Whether you're looking to sharpen your Charleston reads or finally stop feeding your tablemate her winning tile, this workshop is for you. This class is intended for intermediate and advanced players.
